BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's Performing Arts Center (PAC) Series will host Quartet San Francisco in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the PAC Concert Hall.
Quartet San Francisco redefines the sound of chamber music and leaves audiences astounded with what can be accomplished with eight hands and 16 strings. Created in 2001, the quartet includes violinists Jeremy Cohen and Kayo Miki, as well as violist Keith Lawrence and cellist Joel Cohen. As crossover musicians, the group's repertory extends to jazz, tango, blues, big band and beyond.
The group was nominated for a Grammy for their last two releases (2006 and 2007) and won the International Tango competition in New York (2004). The quartet will be joined on stage by two tango dancers as they perform their award-winning tango repertoire.
Tickets for the concert range from $16 to $25 and can be purchased at the WWU Box Office. A limited selection of tickets will be available at Village Books and the Community Food Co-op.
The Western Box Office is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and one hour prior to the performance. For individual tickets or disability accommodations, contact the WWU Box Office, (360) 650-6146 or visit http://www.tickets.wwu.edu/.
