Inspiration Point work closes one lane on Chuckanut Drive

Posted: August 20, 2010 1:58:52 PM PDT

Reconstruction of the Inspiration Point Overlook will require the closure of one traffic lane on Chuckanut Drive for two months beginning next week.

Award Construction Incorporated will conduct demolition, earth moving, trail and scenic overlook construction activities at Inspiration Point, near Milepost 18, Chuckanut Drive (SR11), beginning August 25, 2010. One traffic lane will be closed for construction 24 hours per day, seven days per week, for approximately two months. Traffic control will consist of warning signs and an alternating one way traffic signal. The total length of the lane closure will be approximately 200 feet.

Construction of the project began on July 6, 2010, and is expected to conclude Oct. 18, 2010. Public  access into Woodstock Farm via the driveway from Chuckanut Drive is presently closed until the construction project concludes.

This project is fully funded by grants from the Washington State Department of Transportation and the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office.  More information about this and other park projects can be found at the City Parks & Recreation project website at http://www.cob.org/government/departments/parks/projects/
