Early morning death under investigation by Bellingham Police

Bellingham Police are investigating an early morning death. The death occurred at a home in the 2200 block of W. Xenia Lane at about 2:00 a.m Thursday August 19th. Police responded to the home upon a report of an incident involving a shotgun. When the officers arrived, they discovered a 30 year old Whatcom County man with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to St. Joseph hospital where he later died. The man has been identified as 30 year old William C. Clement. The cause of death will be determined by the Whatcom County Medical Examiner.

Police detectives interviewed two subjects in the home at the time of the shooting and are seeking the location of several other witnesses. This incident has not been labeled a homicide at this time and is still under investigation.  Anyone with infromation concerning this investigation is asked to please contact Detective Tim Ferguson at (360)778-8824.
