Cocaine Dealers Arrested

Two men were arrested by the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force (Task Force)  for multiple counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (cocaine).  During a 3 month investigation by the Task Force both men repeatedly sold cocaine to Task Force Agents.  All of the deliveries occurred from a residence/garage at 2291 E. Smith Road.  A home owned by Larry E. Hayes.

On 3/10/2010 at about 3:30 PM the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force served a search warrant at the E. Smith Road home.  The Task Force was assisted by Deputies from the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office, Troopers from the Washington State Patrol, and Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail:

Larry E. Hayes, DOB 12/05/62; Delivery of a Controlled Substance Cocaine, 11 counts;  Maintaining a Residence for the Purpose of Drug Trafficking, 11 counts.

Salvador Dones-Hernandes, DOB 04/18/77; Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Cocaine, 5 counts; Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Cocaine, 5 counts.

The Northwest Regional Drug Task Force is a combined law enforcement team comprised of detectives and prosecutors from the following agencies:  Whatcom County Sheriff's Office, Whatcom County Prosecutor's Office, Bellingham Police Department, Ferndale Police Department, Washington State Patrol,United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the United States Border Patrol.  The Executive Board of the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force consists of Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo, Whatcom County Prosecutor David McEachran, Bellingham Police Chief Todd Ramsay, and Ferndale Police Chief Mike Knapp.  The Task Force is partially funded by the U.S. Department of Justice under a Justice Assistance Grant--Drug Interdiction Program.
