An attempted robbery and kidnapping was reported yesterday morning to the Bellingham Police. The incident occurred at about 11:20 a.m in the parking lot of Bellis Fair Mall. A 44 year old female victim told officers that she and her 20 year old daughter were walking to their car after leaving the food court. Just as they got to their car, a lone female suspect approached, displayed a knife and ordered them into their vehicle.

The victim got into her car where another victim was waiting for their return from shopping. As the victim got in the driver seat, her daughter got into the back passenger seat. The suspect got into the back seat next to the daughter.

While holding the knife, the suspect demanded that the victim drive to a bank. The victim told officers that she and her daughter got out of their car. The suspect also got out, exchanged words with the victim then got into a tan Jeep Cherokee and drove away.

Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a white female about 30 years old, she is about 5’ 02” with a stocky build. The suspect is believed to have blonde hair, she was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
