Crews repairing a water main break have closed one northbound lane of Samish Way from Mill Avenue to Taylor Street on Wednesday, February 3. Repairs are expected to take four to six hours. Drivers are asked to use extra caution when traveling the area.
Superintendent Bob Bandarra said Bellingham Public Works crews have stopped the flow of water and are working to locate and fix a broken 6-inch cast iron pipe along Samish Way just south of Mill Avenue. He said water service to area homes and businesses between Mill Avenue and Taylor Street on the east side of Samish Way will be affected. Some additional customers off 40th Street and Lonetree Court near the 40th Street reservoir will also be affected.
Bandarra said additional information will be provided as it is available.
