The City of Bellingham Parks & Recreation Department plans to remove a large, dead Douglas Fir tree at Whatcom Falls Park this week.
Work will begin Thursday, January 21 and continue through Friday, January 22. The tree is located west of the stone bridge near a bench and poses a threat to park users as it may fall on the trail. The trail will be closed at times during the removal process. Trail users are asked to follow the direction of Park staff and printed signs on site.
