Bellingham police asking for assistance with rape case

Bellingham Police Detectives are asking for your help with a rape investigation. The rape took place at about 8:00 p.m on or about October 6, 2008. 

The victim, who was 18 years old at the time, told Officers she rode her bike to a bus shelter in the 900 block of Indian street. A man approached her then forced her behind the bus shelter and raped her. 

The suspect is described as a white male around 30 years old, he is about 5'10” with a medium build and shaggy brown hair. The victim believes he was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and black athletic shoes. 

The victim worked with a sketch artist and created a likeness of the suspect and a distinctive silver dragon belt buckle that he wore at the time of the attack.
