The Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week of Nov. 23-25, 2009 to accommodate construction. There will be no work performed on Nov. 26 or 27 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Colacurcio Brothers Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will begin raising the signal poles at various locations, marking pavement and restoring landscape to complete the 2009 Enhanced Pedestrian Crossing project. This project is funded with federal stimulus dollars. Impacts this week will be short term as crews prepare to add crossing enhancements at these locations. Flaggers will direct traffic through intermittent lane closures in the construction zone. Drivers are advised to use caution and obey flaggers. North Forest Street
Ebenal General Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue the water main installation north of Holly Street to Ellis Street. Flaggers will direct traffic through intermittent lane closures in the construction zone. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if at all possible, to use caution and obey flaggers. Fraser Street
Faber Brothers Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue pedestrian and landscape improvements on Fraser Street east of Puget Street. Northwest Avenue
Interwest Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will begin construction of pedestrian improvements and a new roundabout at the Interstate on-ramp. Work this week will include clearing and grading for a new storm drain on Northwest Drive between Sterling and Bakerview Road. Drivers are requested to use caution and avoid the area if possible. The City of Bellingham Public Works Department provides this information as a public service. It is based on currently available information.
