City of Bellingham network and telephone services are fully restored today after a sporadic outages Thursday afternoon and evening affected most City electronic communications.
Bellingham Fire Chief Bill Boyd said the service outage was traced to a power failure at the Fiber Cloud Data Center, where many City electronic communications services are housed. Other local government and business communications also were affected by the power outage.
Boyd said emergency communications handled by 9-1-1 dispatch was not affected by the power failure.
All City primary communications services appear to be fully restored at this time, Boyd said. He said City technical experts and FiberCloud officials worked through the night to ensure services would be fully available on Friday.
"People calling City of Bellingham telephone numbers may have been unable to get through at various times yesterday," Boyd said. "We thank you for your patience in trying to reach us."
