Monthly Weather Summary for May 2009

This monthly weather summary is computed from records of the City of Bellingham Department of Public Works weather recording site located at Post Point. The City maintains an official recording site for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration.

The highest temperature was 77 degrees on the 29th and the lowest temperature was 38 degrees on the 9th. The average temperature was 54 degrees. The total amount of precipitation was 3.90 inches with the most, 0.72 inches, falling on the 14th. The total rainfall for the year-to-date is 16.17 inches.

Since 1930, the historic average temperature is 54 degrees. The record high temperature was 92 degrees recorded on May 28, 1983, the record low was 22 degrees on May 1, 1954. The average rainfall is 2.18 inches and normally by now we have a year-to-date total of 15.42 inches of rain.
