Officer Erik Burt graduates from academy

Posted: June 30, 2014 2:51:23 PM PDT

Bellingham (WA)  On Thursday June 26 Officer Erik Burt successfully completed the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) Equivalency Academy.  Erik was hired by the Bellingham Police Department in February of 2014.  He previously worked as a police officer for Bullhead City Arizona.  Experienced officers from agencies outside of the state of Washington are required to complete the equivalency academy rather than the 5 month long WSCJTC Basic Academy.

In addition to completing the Equivalency Academy Erik has completed over 8 weeks of field training with our experienced officers.

Erik graduated at the top of his 28 officer Equivalency Academy class and is excited to be done with his training and is looking forward to beginning his service to our community as a patrol officer.
