Pedestrians may be required to change their route while sidewalks, curbs and gutters are being poured and are curing. In addition, automobile traffic may be diverted by flaggers when cement trucks are in the work area. For more information about this project, contact Project Manager Sam Shipp at 778-7900 or sshipp@cob.org.
ANNUAL CRACK SEALING
38th Street (near Fielding Ave), Ohio Street - Humboldt to James Street, Bay Street/Flora Street/F Street/Grand Avenue in the Central Business District, Meridian Street - McLeod Road to Girard Street (both North and South bound lanes), Iron Street - Carolina Street to Texas Street, and McLeod Road - Meridian Street to Northwest Avenue
Roger Langelier Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will be crack sealing along the streets identified above. Crack sealing is anticipated to continue in various locations throughout the City for the next 4-6 weeks, but may be extended depending on weather conditions. Residents near these areas are advised to check the weekly road report on the City's website at www.cob.org for the specific area to be affected that week.
Flaggers will be on site directing drivers around intermittent lane closures in the work zones. For more information about this program please contact Chad Bedlington, Maintenance Superintendent, at cbedlington@cob.org or (360) 778-7700.
The City of Bellingham Public Works Department provides this information as a public service. It is based on currently available information. Motorists are reminded that weather and road conditions can change rapidly and should plan accordingly. When traveling through a construction area, drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians are asked to be patient, proceed with caution and obey flaggers at all times. Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing, sidewalk construction, water and sewer main work, and utility cuts. Dates, times and work locations are subject to change due to inclement weather or last-minute changes in work schedules.
