Posted: January 16, 2014 9:52:42 AM PST

Bellingham (WA) At about 3:40 p.m. on 01-15-2014, Bellingham Police Department detectives arrested two individuals for robbery of a taxi driver.  The arrestees are: Patrick Aaron Schaeffer, 01/27/1986, of 3520 N. Red River Road, Ferndale (WA) and Tiana Maria Milazzo, 02/23/1993, of 2581 Kwina Road, Ferndale (WA).

The robbery occurred in the 1500 block of Texas Street on Tuesday January 14 at about 6:40 p.m.   Prior to the robbery Schaeffer and Milazzo called Yellow Cab from a motel on Samish Way.  The two were seeking a ride to the 1800 block of Texas Street.  When the taxi had arrived in the Texas Street area Schaeffer placed a knife to the neck of the 60 year old taxi driver and threatened to kill him if he did not give Schaeffer money.  After taking cash from the taxi driver Schaeffer and Milazzo fled on foot.  The taxi driver was injured during the robbery, having sustained an approximate 2 inch cut to the left side of his neck.  The injury was not life threatening.

Bellingham Police detectives learned the identities of the Schaeffer and Milazzo by working the case backward to the motel on Samish Way.  The detectives determined that the arrestees were the two individuals that had gotten the taxi ride from Samish Way.  Detective interviews with the arrestees confirmed Schaeffer and Milazzo’s involvement in this crime.

Milazzo and Schaeffer were booked into Whatcom County Jail for Robbery in the first degree, a class A felony.
