Five people were injured this morning when a vehicle crashed through the front window of the West Bakerview Starbucks Coffee shop.
At 9:30 this morning an Arlington, Texas man lost control of his vehicle as he was pulling up to park in front of the Bakerview Starbucks Coffee shop. (Click for photo)
Instead of braking to a stop, the car accelerated rapidly causing the vehicle to crash through the front windows and continue through the busy seating area. The vehicle continued through the store colliding into the back wall where it then came to a stop.
Glass fragments exploded throughout the room striking and cutting several customers. Four customers and one employee were injured by the vehicle as it passed through the room. One customer was pinned to the back wall by the vehicle.
Employees and customers were able to get the pinned victim loose as emergency responders began arriving at the scene.
Five injured people were transported to St. Joseph's E.D. for treatment. No injuries were reported to be life threatening.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 70 year old Clinton Worstman of Arlington, Texas. Mr. Worstman was not injured in the crash.
Worstman is being cited for negligent driving 2nd degree.
