Road closures and restrictions for May 5-9, 2008

The Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week May 5 through May 2, 2008 to accommodate construction.

SEWER REHABILITATION PROGRAM

F Street
Ram Construction will continue replacing sewer manholes on F Street between Jenkins Street and Holly Street. Flaggers will be directing traffic around the work sites.

Ram Construction will also be finishing restoration work at various locations in the South Hill area. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic around the work sites and detours will be in place when necessary. WATER MAIN INSTALLATION

Cornwall Avenue
Traffic will be controlled by flaggers along Cornwall Avenue from Alabama Street to Magnolia Street this week due to the following scheduled work:

Weather permitting, Wilder Construction, sub-contractor to Strider Construction, will be patching asphalt on Cornwall Avenue all week beginning Monday morning, starting at Alabama Street and working south to Chestnut Street depending on weather.
ity of Bellingham Water Department crews will be cutting in a new in-line valve at the intersection of Cornwall Avenue and Ohio Street on Sunday night and working through the night in preparation for asphalt patching.
Sail Electric will be installing conduit for electric and fiber optic between York Street and Ohio Street on Cornwall Avenue.
S & S Concrete, sub-contractor to Strider Construction, will be restoring any sidewalks that have been removed during the water main project.

When traveling through a construction area, drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians are asked to be patient, proceed with caution and obey flaggers at all times. Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing, sidewalk construction, water and sewer main work, and utility cuts. Dates, times and work locations are subject to change due to inclement weather or last-minute changes in work schedules.
