Posted: November 7, 2012 9:44:20 AM PST

The Bellingham City Council will accept public comment about the proposed 2013 budget at a public hearing scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 in City Council Chambers.

Written comments will be accepted as well and should be submitted to the Bellingham City Council, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, Washington, 98225, or by email to: ccmail@cob.org.

Bellingham Mayor Kelli Linville presented the 2013 Preliminary Budget to Council on Oct. 8, 2012. The City Council has held four work sessions during the past month to consider the budget in more detail, with two more planned for Nov. 19 and 26.  After these sessions and the Nov. 19 public hearing, the Council is tentatively scheduled to consider a final budget on Dec. 3.

Materials for all Council work sessions, the Nov. 19 public hearing, and the budget deliberations in December are routinely published on the City Council meeting materials section of the City website.

By state law, a final budget for 2013 must be adopted by Dec. 31, 2012.
