Body found in Whatcom Creek

(Bellingham Washington) Bellingham Police are conducting a death investigation following the discovery of a body in Whatcom Creek. The body was found by several employees from the Northwest Salmon Enhancement Association. The employees made the discovery at about 9:30 Tuesday morning while working on a cleanup project in the creek close to the 200 block of Unity Street.

The body appears to be that of an adult male and appears to have been in the water for an extended period of time.

The body has been turned over to the Whatcom County Medical Examiner Dr. Gary Goldfogel to establish the manner and cause of death. More information concerning this case will be released as they become available.
