Whatcom County Jail to hold Emergency Drill Wednesday

Notice of Emergency Drill  02/10/2010


On Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at approximately 2:00 P.M., the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting their annual emergency drill for the Main Jail Facility located next to the Whatcom County Courthouse.The drill will simulate a major fire at the Main Jail.

The drill will involve the assistance of the Bellingham Fire and Police Departments, and will involve a number of emergency vehicles and emergency personnel.   It is anticipated that there will be some traffic disruption in the areas immediate surrounding the County Courthouse complex, including the temporary closures of Lottie and/or Central Avenues.     

The drill is anticipated to last approximately 3 hours.
