...avalanche watch Sunday...


Warming and rain, possibly heavy at times Sunday should cause a rapid and significant increase in the avalanche danger Sunday.Recent heavy snowfall this past week should quickly become unstable with natural avalanches becoming likely.

Back country travel is not recommended near avalanche terrain on Sunday. Note that the warming trend expected Sunday may also cause a lesser but significant increase in the avalanche danger in the Central and south Washington cascades as well.

Backcountry travelers should be aware that elevation and geographic distinctions are approximate and that a transition zone between dangers exists.  Remember there are avalanche safe areas in the mountains during all levels of avalanche danger.Contact local authorities in your area of interest for further Information.
