Flood watch for the Nooksack River in Whatcom County
A warm front will bring the first round of light to moderate rainfall to western Washington tonight through Sunday evening. By late Sunday night the stronger portion of the frontal system will sag southward with heavy rain developing first over the Olympics...then over the north cascades on Monday. Light to moderate rain will also develop over the central cascades but Flooding is not expected there.
Flooding is not a concern on the green river in king county at This time.

Flood watch in effect from late Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon...
The national weather service in Seattle has issued a * flood watch for portions of western Washington...including the following counties... Grays Harbor...Jefferson...Whatcom...and Mason.
Heavy rain in the Olympics Monday through Tuesday could drive some rivers to flood stage. The Skokomish river in Mason County iIs the river most likely to rise above flood stage during the watch period. Other rivers in the Olympic peninsula basin susceptible to strong southwest flow such as the Sat Sop river are also at risk.The Nooksack river in Whatcom county will also rise sharply. Current forecast models indicate the heavier rain in the north Cascades will occur late Monday afternoon through Tuesday. If Flooding does develop on the Nooksack river it most likely would Not occur until Monday night or Tuesday.
