Registration For H1N1 Vaccination Clinics Closed
Both Whatcom County H1N1 Vaccination clinics scheduled for the week of October 26th, have been filled, there are no more appointments available. The H1N1 Vaccination call center is closed.Additional H1N1 clinics will be scheduled as more vaccine shipments are received.
Additional clinics will be announced on the Whatcom Pandemic Joint Information Center website at: www.em.whatcomcounty.org The public is urged to check this site regularly for updates. Do not to call medical provider offices for information on H1N1 vaccine availability. They do not have this information at this time.
Volunteers from the Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) worked this week to fill 1,800 H1N1 appointments for high priority groups. Callers were patient during long hold times as they waited to set up appointments for vaccine.
The CDC reports that eventually all requests for the 2009 H1N1 vaccine will be filled, but due to production delays, some communities may not receive the entire supply requested until late November. By late November, it is anticipated that there will be enough vaccine for anyone requesting the H1N1 vaccine.
This information is provided by the Whatcom Pandemic Joint Information Center. For updated information on H1N1 clinic schedules and additional H1N1 resources, visit www.em.whatcomcounty.org or contact pio@em.whatcomcounty.org.
