Hampton Rd / Mormon Ditch Bridge #261 Opened October 29th
The Whatcom County Public Works Department and Max J. Kuney Construction are pleased to announce the “on-schedule” completion of the Hampton Rd / Mormon Ditch Bridge #261 Replacement Project, located just south of Lynden on Hampton Road. Project improvements include bridge replacement, sidewalks, widened shoulders, and new drainage. These upgrades address replacement of a structurally deficient bridge as well as improved safety for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
Effective Noon on Thursday, October 29, 2009, Nooksack Avenue (south of Front Street) and Hampton Road opened to all traffic.
The Public is advised to use caution and lower their speed through the site, as there may be some minor construction punch list activities still underway.
The Whatcom County Public Works Department wishes to thank the communities, agencies, businesses and general public affected by this project, for their patience and courtesy over the 6-month construction period. Your cooperation has been appreciated.
