Traveling Labor Day weekend?

Heavy holiday traffic is expected this weekend, but drivers can avoid backups by knowing the best times to travel. While most construction will be off the road, we have a few warnings about detours and speed zones [ http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/News/2009/09/1_LaborDay2009travel.htm ] in southwest and eastern washington. Ferry traffic [ http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/ ] also will be heavy, and drivers should plan for delays -- especially the afternoon and evening on Friday and Sunday, and Monday morning.
