Missing Whatcom County Baby Found
At approximately 0830 hours Friday morning,August 28th ,the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office received a report of a missing
infant,Jon "Cecil" Anthony Frazier (DOB 6-17-2009). The child was reported missing from his home in the 1100 block of Wiley's Lake Road east of Custer.It was reported that the boy's father had awoken and discovered that the boy was missing from the home. The mother of the child reported to the Whatcom County Jail the previous morning to await transfer to a state prison on a robbery conviction.
A massive search for the child was conducted in the area of his home that included search and rescue elements from Whatcom,Skagit,Snohomish
and King counties.The search was conducted Friday through Sunday.
Deputies from the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office and special agents of the FBI assested by representatives from the National Center for Missing
and Exploited Children,intiated a criminal investigation and on Sunday afternoon 8-30-2009 developed information that the child's body might be located in the 7100 block
of Dalhberg Road.At 1300 hours on Sunday the body of an infant was located in a wooded area near that location.
Currently members of the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab,the FBI and the King County Sheriff's Office are assisting the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office
in processing various locations associated with the incident.
At the present time the infant's father,Vincent Frazier,is in Sheriff's Office custody and is speaking with deputies. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
and is being treated as a homicide.
