Traffic switch on SR 539 north of Bellingham
BELLINGHAM - Drivers who regularly use SR 539 (Guide Meridian) north of Laurel Road will notice a smoother ride as crews switch traffic to new pavement Wednesday, April 15.
Crews have delayed the work for one night due to a forecast of rain.Crews intended restripe the road Monday night and switch traffic Tuesday morning, but they need dry weather to complete the striping work.Instead, they will restripe the road Tuesday night, April 14, and switch drivers to the new lanes early Wednesday, April 15.
This switch means drivers will use what will become the new southbound lanes. Drivers have been using the existing lanes, which will become the new northbound lanes once the widened roadway is complete.
This traffic switch will allow crews to complete the new Ten Mile Road roundabout and upgrade and repave the existing road.
