Winter Weather Advisory for the mountains
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the west slopes of the North and Central Washington Cascades until midnight pst tonight.
Southwest winds aloft blowing across the cascades will continue to bring snow to the mountains through midnight. Up to 10 inches of additional snowfall is expected from noon through midnight at Mount Baker and Mount Rainier...with up to 6 additional inches expected on the Cascade highway passes. Snow will decrease after midnight as the upper level low affecting the region moves overhead and the Southwest winds aloft weaken and become more southerly.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
If you are planning travel into or across the cascades today...be prepared for winter driving conditions. Carry traction devices ..warm clothing and extra food...and keep informed of the latest road conditions and weather forecasts.
