Latest Flood Prediction: Nooksack to Crest Below Flood Stage

Whatcom County Public Works River and Flood Division and the Sheriffs Office Division of Emergency Management are watching theNooksack river and will
call out people if necessary, the latest predictions are that the storm will stay to the south of us and even though the National Weather service had
a bad prediction this morning putting the Nooksack above flood stage, it looks like it’s not going to come to pass but we’re still watching the river.

Now the forecast shows the south and north forks cresting a bit higher than last night and Cedarville cresting a bit lower, but all below flood stage.  The Nooksack should crest sometime in the early morning hours Saturday just below flood stage ..a constant reminder is not to drive through standing water and check the Whatcom County web site under emergency information for road closures and listen to local radio and NOAA weather radio for updates..
