At 500 PM AST the center of Hurricane Omar was located about 150 miles southwest of St. Croix and about 175 miles south of San Juan Puerto Rico. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 90 MPH with higher gusts. Omar is a Category One Hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Scale. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours.
