SURVEY SHOWS MAJORITY “APPROVE” OF METRO’S PERFORMANCE With METRO actively expanding its light-rail network, and making improvements to its bus system, the agency is ushering in a new era of transit – one with more appeal, and approval. KUHF Houston Public Radio and KHOU-TV recently conducted a survey asking residents, likely to vote in the upcoming mayoral election, what local issues were high on their agenda of concerns. Crime topped the list. Transit/traffic was second. When asked to weigh in on METRO’s performance, 59 percent of respondents approved of the job METRO is doing – only the Houston Police Department got a higher approval rating.
