Before joining the METRO Solutions team in the summer of 2006, Mike worked 14 years for the Houston Police Department as a Senior Community Liaison. "Among other things, I assisted Northside residents with shutting down nuisance bars, founded the HPD's Spanish Citizens Police Academy, and helped start the annual March on Crime parade in the Northside community," says Mike. He also started the Houston City Council Cleanup (C3) project, which brings city officials and the community together to clean-up graffiti and illegal dumping. "Now I am ready for the next challenge in my life and that is to be part of bringing transit improvements to our community", says Mike.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Houston and takes great pride in having enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he graduated at the top of his training class, and went on to serve with marked distinction.
