Bellingham Angel Group Provides Capital to Local Technology Start-up
Bellingham, WA -- June 27, 2008 - Members of the Bellingham Angel Group, a group of early-stage investors, recently made an investment in networkText, a local start-up company that provides free group text messaging.

"The Bellingham Angel Group is proud to connect this critical early-stage funding to a company located right here in our own community," said Bruce MacCormack, chairman of the Bellingham Angel Group. "NetworkText is a promising company with a sharp team and a product with a lot of promise. It is a pleasure to be able to invest not only in a vibrant new company, but to invest also in our local economy and our community at large."

After networkText presented at the Bellingham Angels' February meeting, five members decided to invest in the company following a due diligence process.

"We are very grateful to have been so well received by the Bellingham Angel Group," said networkText CEO Derek Johnson. "Obviously, the investment in us is very helpful and will allow us to grow our product and build out our team. But equally as important has been the advice we have received from them." Two Bellingham Angel Group members sit on the company's advisory board.

The Bellingham Angel Group meets six times per year, hearing presentations each meeting from regional early to mid-stage companies seeking funding. If they are interested, Angel Group members then invest individually in a company. For more information on the Bellingham Angel Group, please visit http://bellinghamangels.com.

NetworkText allows users to instantly send free cell phone text messages to a large group of people using their website, networkText.com. The service is completely free to users. Revenue is generated through advertising - each text message displays a short ad at the bottom of each message. NetworkText currently consists of five employees, all less than 22 years old and all graduates of Western Washington University except for CEO Derek Johnson. Their office is located in downtown Bellingham. For more information on networkText, please visit their website at http://networktext.com
